A German Alone in Madhya Pradesh: A Solo Adventure
I hadn’t done a solo trip in a very long time, so it was time to venture out once again. 12 days Madhya Pradesh starting on the day before Holi. Originally, I had planned to cover the entire state until I realised how huge this state is! Here’s the planned itinerary
The itinerary
After doing my research, I decided to cover the following route for my Madhya Pradesh round trip:
Orchha – 2 1/2 days
- Fort
- Chaturbhuj Temple
- Royal Chattris
Khajuraho – 1 day
- Temples
Khajuraho-Jabalpur – ~ 1 day (no info about busses/trains found)
Jabalpur/Bhedaghat – 1 day
Kanha National Park – 2 days
- Safari
- if possible combine the safari part with a night at Astroport Kanha
Kanha-Gwalior – 1 day
Gwalior – 2 days
- Fort
The latter I’ve left as a buffer in case I wanted to extend my stay at any place. After I’d gotten to know that there is a train that reaches Gwalior within 4 hours and that for around 900 INR, I would easily be able to make a separate weekend trip out of this.
The Budget
Hotel budget per night: 1.5-2k –> 20k
Food/day: 500-1k –> 8k
Busses:
5-6 destinations, bus cost around 500-1k –> 5k
Flight/train/bus home? 3-4k
Travel within city/day: 300 –> 3k
~40k
So let’s see how this turns out to be (and where I actually end up). 🙂
Let’s get right to day one!
